Well ‘got the Gear and No idea’ came to mind…… I took all the advice I could get about keeping warm and safe while trying out this new adventure.
We all met at a cafe and I couldnt believe my eyes at what was eaten in preparation of this days event. I tentitively just drank a cup of coffee. Denny’s navigational skills got us all there safely. We all donned our gear and headed off, on about a quarter of a mile trek, down to the beach.
Denny briefed us on the plan of action and the aim of the exercise. We had a few photos taken and we were off……. The water caused no problems with the extensive preparation we had taken to keep insulated.
I havent as much as climbed the rockery in my garden, so it was all new to me. I was bricking it, to be honest. I havent tried anything like it in my life, so I had no idea what to expect or indeed, whether I would be able to physically complete it.

What a great team…..never once did I worry. I only ever heard encouragement, praise and positive attitudes throughout the whole event. Everyone helped each other, regardless of ability (and we were all very mixed in ability). Some were stronger climbers, some stronger swimmers. Again, there were moment of discovery, hysterical laughter and joking around all under the safe professional instruction of Denny.
This was an amazing day….a few cuts and catches on the fingers and the wetsuit, but cannot wait to have a go again….. and boy did that tone a few muscles. I lost another kilo.
Team Attendees….and I thank them all for their support. Denny, Andrea, Lisa, Shaun and Owen.
